October 21, 2009 - October 21, 2010: A Year in Pictures

Autumn's first picture of many more yet to come - she weighed in at 7 pounds, 4 ounces. After being induced and going through 18 hours of relatively easy labor (epidural - booyah!) she was finally here!!

I didn't cry like I thought I would, especially since I cry at all the baby shows on TV. I was just in awe and so happy to finally see what she looked like - and she wasn't funny looking. SCORE. =)

The picture that introduced Autumn to the world. The first we sent to Nana and Grandpa, friends and family, and Facebook of course!

Meeting everyone for the first time. I was devastated when the doctors told me a few days before my induction that my parents or extended family would not be able to visit me in the hospital due to the H1N1 scare and flu season. Coming home from the hospital was a huge introduction. I remember the boys asking "Where's Autumn?" the second they stepped in the door. They've been my best helpers ever since!

Ever since she was born Autumn was a burrower - she dug into pillows and blankets to get nuzzled in just right.

Autumn's first trip to church.

Her first of many photoshoots to come!

A month old over Thanksgiving break. It was a big event - all the family visited my mom's house and were able to share in Thanksgiving dinner and help bless Autumn that same weekend. It meant a lot to me that everyone came. It was her first introduction to a lot of extended family! She is #15 of the Mattingley grandkids!

Autumn's blessing. Looking back I can't imagine the first year of Autumn's life without my mom. What better education on how to be a mom and raise a baby than get live in help from the best mom there is? I feel so lucky to have been able to share the experience with my parents for 8 months. There was a reason house #5 was meant to be ours after our long house hunt!

Autumn was alive for our record breaking winter! Over 22". She loved going outside and was plenty warm thanks to the awesome winter suit from my Aunt Sue!

Autumn has had Grandpa wrapped around her finger since day 1. I think living in the same house my Dad got to experience babies and growing up with Autumn like he was never able to with his own kids. At least that's our best explanation. Her general cuteness is probably just a bonus. =)

Three months old. The hair only got bigger and better with age!

Quality time with Dad.

The older she gets, the more her little personality comes out =)

Not only did she burrow into the side of the crib, but she also perfected the Jedi neck breaking sleeping stance quite early.

Lucky for me, Autumn has always been an awesome traveler!

I hardly ever shop for myself anymore - it's so much more fun to dress her up!

Her very first pigtails.

Showing her UVU Pride! It is where Adam and I met afterall! =)

First Easter.

First trip to the Outer Banks! She loved the water and loved the ocean. My kind of girl!

Happy Birthday Autumn!

  3. Sigh...she is one cute kid! We wish we could be there to celebrate her big day. All throughout the day today, the kids kept saying, "It's baby Autumn's birthday today!" =)
