Like mother, like daughter...

I enjoy my sleep. I'm a bit of a night owl and not much of a morning person. It's not that I'm grumpy when I wake up, I just hate the physical act of getting out of a warm, snuggly bed and if it's before noon, I'm usually still tired. If undisturbed, my body can just keep sleeping until late afternoon. And I mean LATE. I believe waking up when it's still dark out is a crime.

I was really worried motherhood would cramp my style. I have been blessed with a baby that goes down at midnight (just after 2 episodes of Everybody Loves Raymond at 11PM) and typically doesn't wake up again until 7AM. At just three weeks old, she stretches just like I do (loudly) and seems to really love her sleep (she can get cozy in just about any position). The following pictures prove just how like her mom she is.

We'd sat down for dinner and propped her up on the couch with pillows. A few minutes later when I checked up on her, I found her in this position, sound asleep, totally comfortable. I couldn't resist getting a few shots before I readjusted my sweetie.

  1. I wonder how far into the couch she would've gone. =) I can't wait to see this little girl of yours next week!! Please have her dressed in her prison costume when we arrive. =)

  2. LOL! Her outfit is super cute, I don't know what my dad is talking about. It's brown and blue stripes. He's colorblind. I'll blame it on that... :)

  6. Awww...this is too cute! She kind of looks like she's praying. :)

She may look a little more like Adam, but it's who she's more like with her personality that really counts! ;)

  7. It took us a minute to find her snuggled in to all those cushions. :) Jackson and Lauren daily tell me that they "miss baby Autumn already." They are requesting "hold time" at Thanksgiving.
